Costa de Valencia This coast is mainly low and level, with cultivated plains in many places rising very little above sea-level. The beaches are almost entirely fine, sandy and clean, stretching in an unbroken line starting in the north (just south of Chilches), where the port of Sagunto has 13km of sandy beaches at Canet d´en Berenguer . It is busiest around the capital city Valencia with the beaches and resorts of La Malvarrosa, Levante, La Pobla de Farnals, Alboraya and El Puig to the north of the city.
South of the city, though within easy reach is La Albufera Natural Park, a huge lagoon with an unbroken beach all the way south to Cullera where the mountains reach the sea. The sandy beaches continue south towards the Marina Alta region of Alicante province where the towns of Gandía, Oliva, Denia and Javea combine numerous beaches and coves in beautiful landscapes with sporting and recreational facilities. The coast of Valencia has historic towns and many blue flag beaches which, along with tasty Valencian cuisine, have attracted people to rent holiday accommodation and to buy property.
