It definitely has the wow factor with its top of the range tiled floor and woodburner set in the very spacious living area. It is set in the pretty old part of a typical picturesque Spanish village with every amenity needed for a comfortable life and just 25 minutes from Granada, 45 minutes from the winter skiing and an hour from the coast. There is plenty of parking in the quiet street and the wonderful neighbours are eager to spoil you with left over produce from the campo. The running costs are very good with just 45 euros per year as the annual rates, minimal water and electric (bottled gas for cooking) and logs for heating in the winter. The large woodburner heats the entire house. Although there are 3 terraces, we have been collecting pets and need to move to a larger home with more space. We will not be leaving Illora though as the village is our home. We couldn't leave our wonderful neighbours who are always so cheerful and friendly and have made us feel at home. If you don't wish to stroll to either of the two excellent public swimming pools in the village, there is room for a splash pool/jacuzzi on any of the three private terraces. Whether the house is purchased as a permanent home or a holiday home it would be totally safe as we have rarely locked the doors since we have lived here and have never experienced any crime - in fact we have never heard of any crime happening in the village.
