To
the west is the scenic back road to Malága
and the Axarquía region and to the east
amongst dusty hills lies Guadix, famous for
its cave dwellings and on to Baza on the rolling
sierras with fields of wheat, pastures and fruit
orchards.
Granada lies on
the fertile plain known as La Vega, which is
traversed by the Río Genil. The province
of Granada boasts that you can ski in the Sierra
Nevada in the morning and swim on the coast
in the afternoon.
